My latest work - "CNW on the Arches" - Watercolor original, 10" x 17" in size depicts the CNW 1551 marching up Stockton Hill with a local bound for Rochester. Thank you for taking a look!

Jim - love the CNW colors and your depiction. As I'm not quite familiar with this area, is this the grade out of the Mississippi River valley west of Winona?

Yes, from Minnesota City MN up through Lewiston MN there is quite the substantial grade most of which can be seen from adjacent USH 14. Thank you for the fine comments!

Beautiful job, Jim!   MP 14.2 on the Waseca Subdivision.   A location so familiar
to me.    I recall the 1551 to 1554 being used on the "Alco Line" [Winona to Rapid City}
into the late 1970s.    Thanks for rekindling  forty year old memories!
Best to you,
Jon  SR2
