The Lompoc Local Returning Home
Author: BoilingMan

I would hope (assume) they had some cars for Lompoc, because the Westbound train is looking pretty thin!  The "train" is coming off the White Hills Branch and approaching the Coast route at Surf, where the Santa Ynez River meets the Pacific.  Once they get permission from the dispatcher, they'll be off to Guadalupe (about 25mi), where they'll tie up.

one unit light.  thats pathetic.    I think its just 1 day a week now.    In better days they ran 5 to 15 car trains twice a week.   IDK what the UP cal the branch now...but it used to be the Lompoc branch surf to Lompoc, and the White Hills branch Lompoc to White Hills.  Of course, there USED to both legs of the wye in service, and a yard at surf, and way before my time...a manned tower at surf....

This job usually runs with 2 units, so 1 unit is  REALLY light.
