March 2019 Flood Hit Nebraska Central RR
Author: cozephyr

Nebraska Central RR (NCRC) was hit hard by the March 2019 flood(s).  Check out 16 September 2019 view of Cedar River flood damage north of Fullerton, NE.  Nebraska Central RR line Genoa to Fullerton to Cedar Rapids, NE, still out of service.  Railroad bridge appears undamaged except for tree laying against the bridge.

There are/were two active shippers at Belgrade, beyond that the line is/has been pretty much out of service.
Cedar Rapids has rail pulled up around it, crossing signals removed. I assume that the most active shipper
just South of Belgrade will want service resumed. There's a fairly new elevator across the road from Fullerton,
'always been suprised that they never laid rail.
