CP Heritage Biz Train

Miracles happen, indeed for me..Word was out that CP's business train would be deadheading to KC from Canada, rolling thru La Crescent, Mn area under cover of darkness shortly after midnite  Sat night.  Account snow storms  up north  and a mechanical issue on CP F unit 4106 developed in St. Paul, Mn. train was operating later than scheduled.. CP decided to use the CP 7015, which had been set up for service at St Paul Diesel Shop, for its first  road trip.     Intel  had crew on duty at 0930 in St Paul, Attending church Sunday morning to worship  then an open house, wherein I saw 2 retired rails  and 2 working rails,  I had dim hopes of seeing today's train.  Alas, after leaving the Open house,  the miracle happens, train is just leaving Winona, Mn  about 30 miles  north of my location.  Yes,  I did have time. Off we go.

Great series Pat. Thanks for braving the raw weather and the foaming mob. Actually it was fun seeing them in photos as well .

ADDED: After a second, third and fourth look, you really got a Great variety of angles and scenery!

Nice stuff...three A units was treat enough, but to add a new rebuild is better! They were delayed departing Calgary due to power issues, and the 1401 was smoking all day, surprised it was another one that gave trouble.

My chase will be getting posted later this week (family obligations over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend are keeping me away from the computer)

Just wondering about that beautiful dome......as delivered, they were set up to run with the "Stairway to the Stars" lower lounge to the rear.....here it is running forward.  CP must have "reversed" the direction.......which will probably cause glare at the forward end when running after dark, sad about that.  But Kudos anyway to CP for "making it so".

Kudos to CP rail.  They know what a heritage unit should look like!   I especially like their heavyweight consist as well.   Great shots Pat!
