Western Railroad Discussion > Trying To Catch Up On The BNSF and They Are Back!--GMTX 2692

It was a sunny hazy day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 53-30. Very dry, need some rain. Traffic was fairly steady with a several hour work window in the morning, 23 trains since midnight. Many more on the horizon. On the morning of Nov. 5th looked out the back door and there was MoW camped back out in the backyard once again. They have been frequent visitors these past months. Unfortunately they block the sunny side of the track for pictures. Today looking at Monday and part of Tuesday. Looks like it will take awhile to catch up.

11/4/2019

1. EB 859am grain train with BNSF 5032-8177 on the point with DPU.
2. DPU BNSF 5542 on same train fading away by olf NP Ritzville Depot.
3. Work train power BNSF 4230 rolling down yard track on it's way to escape.

15. They are back! at 835am. They just can't stay away, lol. This areas track should be in great shape.

16. WB 839am coal train with BNSF 6225-6339-9894 on the point with DPU and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.
17. DPU BNSF 8988 on same train.
18. WB 1033am "Z" train with BNSF 7126-9184-H1 1048-4664-Orange on the pull with a friendly  toot-toot from the hogger.

Lots of action today.  Really neat to see the lone unit running around on the pass.  And I suppose we are all getting used to all the track equipment.

20. About 20 reefers in a row on same train.
21. GMTX 2692 along for the ride on same train, nice looking locomotive. Not sure of it's destination.

GMTX bringing back that New York Central paint job. Looks really sharp!

I saw a similar BN hopper in Belen yesterday with a date of new 5-70 but the paintwork had faded on it but there was no graffiti

There must have been many hundreds of BN hoppers painted in the early 1970s and many can still be seen around today
