The City, while it has the desire, I understand doesn't have the needed funds to make the move. BNSF has given the fund raisers some extra time to see if we in the rail fan community can give the effort a boost. As of this posting, the effort has raised $5,086 of the $40,000 needed.

Arlen Date: 12/03/19 16:03 Re: Save/Relocate EMD SD9 "599" in Skykomish Author: BoostedFridge Just a thought, but reaching out to some of the 'local' heavy haul crane companies from the Seattle Area for a donation of time, or discount on their services would be a good idea. If the crane company could write off some of their cost of the lift as a charitable donation, they would be more likely to consider this.
