It was a COLD one today...Sunny but COLD!!!

Ahhh Winter in the upper Midwest!!! Sunny and 2 above with a wind chill in the -15 to -20 range as I headed for an unknown eastbound, which turned out to be CP 580, NS 1098 which I caught just east of Bangor WI. Back in La Crosse, the BNSF H-NSINTW had three ACEs up front, BNSF 8514 - FXE - KCS. There was a nice cloud cover until he throttled to go, then BAM full sun!

Over by the Amtrak Depot, CP 7309 - 4406 were busy assembling H-19, there's something about the CP Red and clear blue skies! Time to head to Dakota as ATCS was lit up like a Christmas tree for eastbounds! CP 288 was first with the UP 9056 leading a pair of CSXT SD40 type EMDs.

CP train 474 was next with the CP 8721 leading and the UP Way-freight LTA 42 to Adams WI, UP 1820 was hot on her heels. CP 470 rolled into town next behind the CP 9832 and nearly new KCS 5019.

Here's another look at CP 470, CP 9832 and it's colorful consist. Lastly today was CP 380 - 2 / H20 with yet another Union Pacific consist with the UP 6562 leading the way towards La Crosse WI. Be safe and stay warm!

Very NICE series with lots of variety in the snow and sunny COLD temps. May get snow in the backyard tonight.
