It is Trainorders tradition.  I've been on here since the 1990's, and there's always been someone to make the same, really clever comment.

Or, someone made a mistake in judgement, as we all have, and all will.

No need to add insult to injury.

Adding insult to injury is when they hold the train for four hours supposedly for an investigation. A three year old could finish these investigations well enough to let the train go in 20 minutes. The rest is clean up work. Suicide, drunk, doper, ear buds in groovin' to the tunes, jogger following the rails - same result.

don't document all the evidence, then the default jury verdict will hold the rr liable for thousands and thousands

Train doesn't move until it's released by Law Enforcement and/or the Coroner.
That's the law.

That's on the east side of the trench, almost to the switch where the Reno branch (formerly WP) veers off on the north side.

Well to post "Thinning of the herd"  is a cold and unthinking thing to post.  There was a classic story that rings a familiar tone.   Scrooge was reviled for the quote.  "If they would rather die," said Scrooge, "they had better do it, and decrease the surpluss population."   No matter who this 52 year old was, there is most likely someone who if mourning his death.  It is also pretty callous to the train crew that they are reduced to a position of herd thinning.   I stand by my statement!

Time was, here in America, when we thought badly of other cultures that "didn't value human life".   "Ho Hum", as some would say.
