CP 6644 in Wylie Texas
Author: KB5WK

Got word last Friday the CP Heritage engine CP 6644 was coming to Wylie yard on Sunday 01/12/2020 via the KCS.  It went to Mexico via KCS on a Grain Train earlier last week.   KCS ran a I-MYDA (Monterrey-Dallas) intermodal with KCS 4046 leading and CP 6644 trailing.  A few others in chase caught it around Sulphur Springss TX.  I barely caught it at East Copeville around 10 am.

Here are my drone shots at Wylie yard.

More drone shots at Wylie yard on 01/12/2020.

Around 4 pm.  Wylie commander gave the order to have the CP 6644 placed in the lead on the M-DASH to go east back to Shreveport.  These 3 photos are the DASH crew heading to Track 11 to the couple up and head east.

Early Sunday morning, 01/12/2020 around 10 am.  Here comes the I-MYDA with KCS 4046 and CP 6644 at East Copeville and at then at Copeville siding.  Wylie commander had them tie the train down in the siding.  Then flocks of railfans arrived. It was busy day on the KCS Greenville sub.

Very nice series of pix. Lots of power there to shoot. Drones are a great way to get a different angle on a facility. Have RR police ever approached you about taking pictures over the RR property or the crews take notice?

Yes to both. There is a RR policeman at Wylie. He has contacted me.  And asked that I get permission when I want to fly over the yard. So I do. They know me very well at Wylie.

So you're sort of like a 'Wylie Coyote' around there? Interesting shots.
