THE ROCK LIVES ON!!

MWCX 462571

This 1979 built Thrall 4750cf three-bay hopper clings to life in 2020, in Commerce, CA on the LAJ as of January 26th. Captured both sides for all the contemporary modelers out there.

I still remember your HO scale model from a few years ago!

You can really tell in the second picture that this has has been patched more then once.
Would be a really interesting effect if it can be pulled off on a model.

In the first photo an outline of the CNW logo is visible.

Yes, a semi-close representatnion of my model from (can you believe it...) 6+ years ago!!!

Trainorders thread from November, 2013...

Though I modeled a slightly older InterMountain 4750cf PS2-CD hopper, with retrofitted Tangent outlet gates. I also cheated a bit on the double-patch with white TTX letters & numbers on a black background to get that unique italicized effect. Though I'm certain I saw an example of such a patch on a similar hopper, just can't recall the specific number at the moment.

Is there an "all-time-list" showing what ROCK cars went to what RRs, and perhaps also where they are NOW - going through changes like ROCK grain cars (as in the images, above) to CN&W and then MWCX, and so forth?  Thanks.

Isn't MWCX a U.P. own reporting marking?

So far as I know, Midwest Railcar Corporation (MWCX) is just a nationwide freight car leasing operation.
