Streetcar Stranded on I-80 in Iowa
Author: kevink

While driving east after packing up my daughter’s dorm room early, we passed a yellow streetcar on a trailer on the westbound shoulder of I-80. The was no semi present so it wasn’t going anywhere fast. This was just west of the US 61 exit on the north side of Davenport IA.

It may be a rehabilitated streetcar bound for San Francisco's Muni Railway.  It it "sort of " looked modern and streamlined, then it is, I'm sure.  Returning from Brookville, that does all of those rehabs.

I wish we had a picture, but I understand.
These things happen.

It was already a long emotional day for my daughter so I elected not to turn around for a picture.

I did a little research on the web and I am fairly certain it was a Gomaco-built trolley heading back to Ida Grove IA for work.

Thanks for the link.

Nice to see some trolleys which look like a trolley.
