Been watching trains for a long time like 45 years! I haven't seen many of these around lettered boxes?

 The patchwork suggests ex Clarendon & Pittsford.......

Reporting marks indicates the boxcar belongs to the Arkansas Louisana and Mississippi Railroad.
There is a picture of the same boxcar dated in 2006 that appears on another railroad picture website..

Those drooping rods suggest to me some repair time may be approaching. 
 

Arkansas Louisiana & Mississippi.  Ran 53 miles from Crossett, AR to Monroe, LA.  Still in business and owned by GWRR.  The 1815 pictured, a GP28, hasn't run in a long time.  The 1812 second in the pic is now GWRR orange and is still in service.  Phone taken in 2001 in Bastrop, LA.  The IP mill in the background is completely gone now.  Nothing but a big flat slab where it use to steam away...

ALM 531526 was originally a Clarendon and Pittsford  and most likely from the series CLP 3161-3260 that was built by Pullman Standard in June 1978. Love these old Per Diem veterans that are still in service.

As noted, the car you spotted is an ex-Clarendon and Pittsford Pullman-Standard 5344 CuFt 50'6" Plate C boxcar built in May of 1979. Here is CLP 7213 in nearly-new paint back in September of 1979.

As you can see, the original Pullman door has been replaced at some point along the way, and the old original markings have been painted over. Here's a slide from the collection; photographer and location not noted. The car is equipped with end-of-car cushioning, as were many shortline per-diem cars on account they drew higher daily car hire fees for their investment owner groups. Well, at least until the per-diem scheme fell apart in the early 1980s....

Here are two more images of original cars, from different orders. CLP 7008 built in July of 1979, and CLP 3188 built in July of 1978. You can see the end-of-car cushioning draft gear in both images. Both images: slides from the collection. Photographers, dates, and locations not noted.
