Pend Oreille Valley Railroad's GP10s
Author: Ohiorailfan

On the 17th we had a bonus day which has never happened on one our trips. Usually we get everything we planned for in a certain area, but it takes all week or so. This time we had an extra day to play with so we called the POVA RR to see what the plans were. Turns out they were running from Newport this day to Sandpoint. Power for the train was 2 Ex IC GP10s one of which is painted in the sharp POVA paint scheme. They run MWF to Sandpoint to interchange with UP. Enjoy!

Nice chase! To think those rails were once shined by the Empire Builder-it's too bad that EB passengers didn't get to enjoy these views as it went through this area at nighttime.

Great set of photos. If they interchange with the UP they must do it west of Sandpoint. The Sandpoint interchange is with the BNSF.

I don't believe they interchange with the UP, just use UP rails to get from Dover Jct. to Boyer Yard in Sandpoint, ID.
