From NS it became SLGG 14030, then DMM 14030, now CKIX 14030

Date: 09/16/20 10:33 Re: Unusual riveted boxcar at Mineola, Texas Author: Notch7 The CKIX car is most likely from a series of cars rebuilt by NS at the old SOU Hayne Shop in Spartanburg SC . They were rebuilt to Coors specifications for shipments from Coors in Golden CO to Pineville NC for final distribution. Coors specifications required heavier insulation and a correct interior size to eliminate voids with their palletized loads. NS got some publicity for rebuilding these cars. The service was good. I hauled these cars daily, and we often had about 20 each day. Ultimately Coors acquired an eastern warehouse of their own, and the public warehouse in Pineville lost the contract. This was probably the last big rebuild project Hayne Shop did before closing.
