JG Date: 09/23/20 07:50 Re: Blast Off . . . Author: 2-10-2 Who's SMECO? I used to work for the company that now makes boosters for Delta4 and others, but don't recognize the name.

SMECO is the UP train symbol. Special (S) Memphis, TN (ME) to Corrine, UT (CO). These cars are empty after moving solid rocket booster segments from Northrop Grumman in Utah to Kennedy Space Center a few months ago. The booster segments will be used on the Space Launch System rocket for the Artemis 1 mission sometime next year. They also moved two test segments for Northrop Grumman's omegA rocket. These cars were originally used for hauling SRB segments on the Space Shuttle program, and SLS is using an updated larger version of the Shuttle SRBs. Date: 09/23/20 11:47 Re: Blast Off . . .
