BTW business must be good. Uncle Joe Seffner,Fl. I would imagine that in "normal" times, the trains would be shorter! IMHO

When I was there for the Santa Fe Convention in 2019 it was out of service and a standard cab Geep was on the east end. From What I could tell on the video, the train was its normal length.

... Looks like that 3rd car needs a paint job sooner rather than later! Speaking of which... ***RANDOM THOUGHT ALERT*** Does anybody know how much it costs to pant a 2-tone, striped, standard 85-foot North American passenger car such as the dining car seen in this video (3rd carriage behind the 2 locomotives). Does the use of silver paint affect the cost? How long does such an endeavor take from start to finish? Just curious. Is this on previous or abandoned Ex-DRGW trackage? Jim Baker Riverside, CA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/26/20 07:32 by RailRat. And how do they turn for the return?
Date: 09/26/20 10:21 The Royal Gorge Train on ex-D&RGW line Author: cozephyr The Royal Gorge Train operates over former Denver & Rio Grande Western RR trackage that was operated under SP and UP. UP sold a portion of the line in the Royal Gorge area to Rock & Rail (now owned by Martin Marietta) and the Canon City & Royal Gorge RR operations.
Trains operate with locoomotives on both ends. Train crew just swaps ends. |
