Okay we don't get much snow, biggest snowfall in over a decade, and I shot 300 images Thursday. Enough snow shots for awhile, I thought. It's just going to melt tomorrow anyway, I thought. Friday morning I'm inside the warm house relaxing having my coffee watching the cats playing, and the birds out in the snow when a westbound merchandise train goes by with this KCS unit on the rear in DPU. Well I can't stand it, the light is brilliant, there is still snow and I'm dressed and out the door in 2 minutes right behind it. Fortunately it's going in the hole at Tiger which allows me to catch it on the reverse curve at MP411 and a couple of other favorable locations. The last few days I have been clearing my parking and photo spots of snow so it was just drive up, get out, get the shot, move on. The chatter on the radio between this train and the eastbound he is meeting tells me another eastbound is right behind this one. That allows me to plan only 2 shots knowing they will be moving faster than I can get relocated, one at East Tiger and the other in the reverse curve at 411. I get those and still manage to make West Tiger for one last view of the Belle rolling down towards Tulsa. Then it's back home to reheat and finish my coffee. 1 hour, 3 trains, 160 shots, I'm only going to show you a few. Enjoy.
