Seems like an unfavorable location for storage.

Out here in Wyoming at this time of year it could be considered "Cold" storage.

Looks like short-term storage or a power move.  The leased units HLMX may be going back to the lessor while the BNSF four axle units are probably being re-positioned.  It looks like a few GP50s in the bunch which would likely be moved elsewhere to work or for a sale.  Interesting move.  Interesting.  Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the info.  I've found it odd that the BNSF was returning ex-ATSF GP38's and then leasing HLCX GP38's.  Maybe the latter are dash two's, I don't know.

With the decline in coal traffic, Donkey Creek would be an okay spot for storage.  Fairly dry and open.  And as mentioned this time of year, cold.

Sad to see the BN green units getting repositioned or stored..   Curious as to why the GP50's are getting stored too, unless they are ultimately heading for Topeka or another facility for possible repair..

It's seems BNSF is always short of 4-axle power, yet they are storing more in more of them.

Moving from one storage location to another.  They are all months and months past-due on FRA inspections.  Some are good order, some are bad order, BNSF 537 is for sale.

The HLCX locomotives are on lease for two more years.
