Monday Meets: Stacked up at Grantville
Author: santafe199

As you often see happen, you get some interesting action only after the weather goes south. But since you're an hour from home with time and half a tank of gas (so far) invested in your latest railfanning jaunt it seems pretty silly to just quit shooting. Especially when considering the (er… umm……) COST of film & processing nowadays…

1. UP 8372 leads an eastbound stacker hot off the GSR through the Grantville crossover plant on main #2, meeting...

2. …UP 8808 west with another stacker. After the 8372 clears this train will crossover from main #1 and…

3. …run on into Topeka on main #2. This was a move so typical of a stacker headed for the GSR in downtown Topeka, right?? WRONG: ( https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,5206325 ).

The clues to this guy headed to Marysville are those orange Schneider 53's on the 4th car...but I'm sure now that I say that UP will start hauling some towards LA via the GSR as well. Looks like it was a fun rush to run back and forth.
