The British firm Smith Detection will supply the detectors. The indefinite price, indefinite quantity order was approved in late 2020.

Surprised Laredo is not on the list considering it is the busiest border crossing,

Hence, reducing the safety / security risk of producing, transporting and utilizing radioisotope gamma ray sources.
Probably lower in cost in the long run, to boot.
