here is an e/b 3x2x1 combo stack/ethanol mtys heading out of a curve and coasting down into the "sag" at hackberry, az on the bnsf's seligman sub...............

I understand the dark signals.  But when the train hits the detection block not only does it light the signal on his track but also the one on the other track.  Why would they be wired that way?

I suspect this is so that a crew doesn't get fooled by a "dark signal" situation.  Approaching a signal point the crew expects all signals to be lit in some color.  If not, they will be looking out for a problem.  BSB

Nice catch of the Mega stack/ethanol train on the curve. Don't always see that combination.
