Latest is I-70 in Glenwood Canyon is closed for an indefinite time - too many issues - monsoon rains, dammed up river, rising water, damaged road, damaged highway bridges.  Closed I-70 and railroad in Glenwood Canyon as of August 2021 - !

You guys do know the dates on those articles are over a MONTH ago, right?
The current closures are from a different set of slides that just happened this last weekend.

Google I 70 closure and you will find a ton of horror stories relating to the slides and damage done to the highway.  Not much on RR and Amtrak.

Only TrainOrders reports on Glenwood Canyon rail situation.  VERY LITTLE in other media reports touch on the railroad.  Has Union Pacific issued a customer alert-?!?  Where's an Amtrak statement on their California Zephyr service =17.549999237060547pxdisruption-?

Still many thousands of tons of materials up the hillside that can still come down.   Amazing how far up the mountainside that video goes.

It also didn't show any damage to the railroad side of the valley.   In some other news photos it showed a large amount of debris came down the hillside and under a railroad bridge pretty much blocking the river and forcing it to run down along the highway.  The walking trail adjacent to the highway seems obliterated.

Hard to tell from the vid if it undercut the eastbound lanes, i know that they were concerned about that.

No idea how this could have happened, oh wait, I'm still trying to figure out how they built
parts of in the first place! Beautful piece of highway, 100% chance something like this would
happen. The high water in the river at times has already caused problems, hopefully a few
solutions can be put in place.
