Author: atx_railfan Went out to Flatonia, TX yesterday, but the tracks were pretty dead. The first train we saw after around an hour there was a coal train behind an SD70ACe-T4, which we west on the Glidden Sub.

5) Pulling into the siding in Kingsbury 6) After a swing through San Antonio, we headed home towards Austin. On the way, we stopped in New Braunfels to photograph one of the last scarlet and grey units on the UP roster, ex-Cotton Belt GP60 #1055. This unit is used as local power out of New Braunfels. Friend of mine is a UP engineer and loves them. Apparently it's a very smooth and quiet ride compared to the GEs. Give Flatonia another try on the next sunny day you are are free to travel . I'm told that Tower #3 has been relocated .
