Eleven hour late Coast Starlight this morning
Author: photobob

I went out and braved the heat to get a shot of an eleven hour late #11 at the south end of Dunsmuir Yard. The reason for the tardiness was flash flooding near Andesite caused by a down pour coming from the large thunderheads seen in the background surrounding Mt Shasta.

Great shot. Looks like clouds from McKinley fire. Here's the downpour last night in Dunsmuir at 1727 about 6:36. Lasted about a half hour

Great photos.  (I think you mean an eleven-hour-late number 11.)

Nice shots Bob! I have that second unit on a tee shirt issued by Amtrak in celebration of their 50th Anniversary. Not an attractive unit but certainly a notable achievement! Happy birthday Amtrak!

Nice shots, Bob, thanks for posting.  I suspect, however, that everyone was a lot happier to get the rain.  While this area is no longer in a "dry" condition, we're still well behind normal.

Passed my place in So. San Luis Obispo around 3:10 AM. I really feel for the remaining passengers on board.
