A train at Lamanda Park-westbound
Author: lamta_jay

Taken way back in August of 1972 and I was with my long time friend  Bob Berger.

Taken on a day we had gone to Cajon Pass and saw the eastbound Chief near Summit !
I was told there had been a derailment on the Third District so some trains were running
on the Second District !
Go figure, since Bob and I both lived in Arcadia we go to Cajon and trains ran through Arcadia !

Great day of trains with Bob !

Oh wow!  My old stomping grounds as well.  I spent many hours there watching the Second District locals work the various industries which included perishable business way back in the 50s.  This was also a key point in steam days where steam helpers were cutoff after helping trains from LAUPT and over the ruling grade up to Pasadena.  Thanks for sharing the photo!
