Hopefully someone called the RR or 911.

This is one of the problems with all the remote/DPU usage.  While a locked up axle might shut down the engine, the air wont dump until something derails.

Engineer was on the locomotive and he lowered the throttle pretty quickly.    Video Attached from our RailCam.  Enjoy!

Ok.  Nevermind.  Hard to tell from the still pic.  Looked like a traction motor flashover.  Obviously not a locked axle/burning wheel.

No worries, the video took longer to process. It's all good.

Thanks for the video, Winslow yard is primarily switched from the east end and is an uphill grade yard to the west.  It takes a lot of throttle to move long and/or heavy cuts into a track or when you are trying to kick cars.  It also requires a lot of handbarakes and rail skates to keep cars in stationary.  When you are at West Winslow taking a picture of a westbound train leaving the yard those locomotives are really working.

Wheel slip from a six axle unit. Thats why the sparks went shooting to the rear.
