DRGW 12844 still rolling off the miles on Cajon!  How old is this guy I like how he has no Action lettering?

The 12,000 series cars were built between 1979 through 1982.

The stacked flying Rio Grande was being phased out under the SP era following on into the early UP era.  Many of the Hoppers of these series (12000, 17000, & 19000 series) have left the system, some to new users,l and some to scrap.

Very nice to see older equipment in use.  Most hoppers like this one as well as the fleet UP had along with the merged roads are gone.
