3 Years Goes Fast...
Author: mg8711

3 years ago today UP 4014, very much expected, rolled across Western Kansas after a snow storm, very unexpected. It was definitely icing on the cake to what had already been a long 3 day chase. The best part was, there are more railfans that I know than I can count on both hands that got to experience the rare event as well...true story.

UP 4014 rolls around the sharp curve at Collyer, KS on the Sharon Springs Sub as it billows a plume of steam into the air. It was absolutely frigid.

That was a cold day, but sure was fun.  I am glad I was able to catch the train.

It sure was. And it was a miracle nobody had any bad accidents with the slick driving conditions...  :^)
