Caboose is lettered Fracht LBR 551974. Cold gray day with surprising amount of snow on the ground.

Is there a rotating conductor in a magnetic field which is powered by an external power source, or is it really a "transformer," or maybe something else.

Yes, that is a generator head for lack of a better term and is connected to a source to turn the shaft. |
