UP Tie Collector at St Louis 1/22/23

A UP purpose-built scrap tie hauler train loaded with scrap ties departs St Louis for Illinois via the MacArthur Bridge led by a pair of SD60s. I may be mistaken but the lead unit looks to have been recently repainted?

Hopefully the Sedalia Sub will see a lot of action from that train.  We have old tires stacked along almost the entire right-of-way from Jeff City to Lee's Summit.  Been there going on 18 months to 2 years in some locations.

That is actually a Alton & Southern train , that pair of UP SD60's have been assigned to ALS for at least 6 months. WE see quite a few of those old double stack cars re purposed for MofW service.

The cars are completely new builds just for this service.
