Western Railroad Discussion > Colorado's Recent Weather (Slightly OT)Date: 05/11/23 18:30 Colorado's Recent Weather (Slightly OT) Author: mojaveflyer Colorado has recently had rain and thunderstorms that started Tuesday night. As I got off work Tuesday night I decided to head out to try some storm photography. As of this morning (Thursday), my rain gauge is showing 2 1/4" since Tuesday night. I understand the Moffat Line west of Denver is closed due to a rock slide in Frasier Canyon.
Photo #1- Looking north towards Cheyenne. This storm was moving to the northeast and shortly after I shot this National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning on it. Photos #2 & 3- I headed east to where I was seeing more lightning in Weld County. I played with my Lightning Trigger on my Canon R body with a wide angle lens and got a few decent shots of the electrical show east of Keenesburg. I thought the results were fairly good using the combination of the new camera and lightning trigger.... Looking forward to more weather spotting this summer! Thanks for looking....
