Thanks to <donner_dude1> for the great information - regarding Donner - as yesterday was my first visit.

Started at Alta - chased a junk train east - stopped at Yuba, Soda Springs and finished off at the top of the bike trail at Floristen.

Troy Rd and the summit access road - both are still snowed in - so some of my summit options were limited.    Was hoping to catch the EB Z - but she never showed (and I was pressed for time).    Caught #5 as well.

1-3 - UP 2573 (with 6186 and 9065 trailing) - EB at Alta.

My pleasure - I wonder what happened to the ZLTG2. It's usually very reliable in the morning. 

Looks like you found " Gorge" at least that's the name we've been generally calling it. Alta is back at MP 156 this is MP 158.5. It's had various names over the years.  

Very enjoyable series!

It still ran. We (the westbound Z) met them down at Bowman, while we hogged up the needed space on 1 between there and Colfax.

Great set of photos from what I will always think of as 'American', as the view has been coloquially known by many railfans for decades (even though 'technically' not correct).  Also great coverage from the other locations as well.

The Gorge police will be arriving shortly.
