Two CN motors run light with funky horn on leader - Drayton Local
Author: jmulhol2

A pair of eastbound (geographically southbound) foreign-power light engines are today's power for BNSF's "Drayton Local" seen here passing MP00.35 on the BNSF Glasston Subdivision during the stormy late afternoon hours of 05/29/2023. These engines earlier lead westbound (geographically northbound) with a small cut of cars (mostly old open-top hopper cars). The lead motor, which wears severe burn/fire scars, displays its funky horn at this normally-quiet-zone public crossing.

Power:
CN #2202 (GE C44-9W; built: 01/2004)
CN #2272 (GE ES44DC; built: 10/2007)

Sounds like a Nathan P3 that's more or less on-pitch.  Very nice!

I agree with Evan! My first thought was an old SP P-3 horn....

A lot of P horns on CN now from IC where they were somewhat standard.
Sounds like hogger was modulating the volume to keep it quiet.
