Gray Days with BUGX 2000
Author: NickWolters

Foggy, overcast days aren't uncommon in the San Joaquin Valley in the winter. More often than not, gray skies can settle in and blanket the valley for days on end. Those days can present unique photo opportunities along Central California Traction's Central Valley Branch. Lately, Dieselmotive Company's BUGX 2000 has been enlisted to work CCT's Lodi Flyer, a Monday-Friday roundtrip turn between Stockton, CA-Lodi, CA. Still sporting its white Southern California Railroad scheme that blends in well with an overcast setting, the unit pridefully wears a gyralight and a crisp sounding Nathan P3. It's a real treat to have this Rio Grande GP40 around!

1 - BUGX 2000 and teammate CCT 1501 bring the first Lodi Flyer of 2024 northbound through Morada, CA, a quiet residential community east of Stockton. (1/2/24)
2 - It's an easy Friday run to Lodi as BUGX 2000 comfortably handles the local on the approach to Bear Creek Road. (1/19/24)
3 - BUGX 2000 and Traction Company 1501 are hard at work on Leap Day 2024 as the EMD duo maintain track speed through Morada, CA. (2/29/24)

What a delight to hear a P3 horn and watch an operating Gyra light . Shades of the SP from  my youth in North Central Texas. Thanks for sharing this video.

Very good Nick. I especially like the third scene noises.
