Happy Veterans Day!!
Author: trainmandan

Happy Veterans Day to all of our members here on TO that either have served or continue to serve in each of the Armed Forces of this great nation.

I'm a bit late in posting this tribute, but hope you enjoy these pictures honoring our servicemembers.

1) CN's Veterans unit duo leads intermodal train Z194 south past a couple decommissioned U.S. Army rockets at a small Veterans Park in Manteno, IL.
2) CP 6644, Canadian Pacific Kansas City's "D-Day" unit - wearing a scheme reminiscent of World War II "Spitfire" aircraft - leads CPKC 181 past a small park in Roselle, IL that contains a Soldier's Cross monument, with the names of servicemembers engraved in brick surrounding the statue.
3) Indiana Harbor Belt's locomotive that "Salutes Our Troops" makes an unexpected appearance at IHB's Burnham Yard straddling the Illinois-Indiana state line on the west side of Hammond, IN.

Hope all you veterans get the respect and thanks you deserve. To you, I salute!

All wonderfully appropriate to the day.

When was the 181 in Roselle photographed? I ask because it has two EMPU boxes stacked first out, and CPKC had been kicked out of the EMP pool not too long after the merger by UP in retaliation for downgrading the Laredo interchange for IM in favor of their longer haul between former KCSM points in Mexico and Chicago.
