Tehachapi Tanker
Author: cinder

A forlorn rusting tank car sits on a short piece of track long since severed from the high iron at Rowen siding near the Tehachapi loop in CA. Hundreds of rainstorms have slumped the nearby soil against the running gear. Does this isolated car serve a purpose? Water for fire control?

Cinder: That car has been there sooooo long, I can't remember anything about it!
(A lot of help, I am!)
However, The last word I heard on it was that the Kern County Museum was interested in moving it to the grounds on North Chester Avenue (Bakersfield, CA) for their RR display. That has been in the works for a couple of years now, I understand. What's happening with it... I don't know at this time.

We shall see.
