The UP and City of Riverside CA have agreed to test horns placed at six crossings, in place of the engineer blowing at each crossing.

Contractor is now at work, installing between Streeter and Pachappa.
This also includes camera's. Four horns per crossing

The horn sound is directed at each crossing, reducing the volume from greater distances for the homes along the tracks.

FRA will be following the test, to see if it would work elsewhere.

We have them in many places including two at Roseville. it's ok I guess The FRA prescibes the installation. The owner of the wayside horns belong to the city or public road dept not the rr. Xtra brd slim.
