Trainorders.com Excursion
Author: webmaster

We picked up a few more people for our excursion that departs May 13th from Los Angeles. If you are interested in any of the legs visit the web site at http://www.trainorders.com/trip/2004.php

Also, if you are one of the ones who keeps saying maybe next year you may want to reconsider:

1. We will not be offering a railfan tailored excursion in 2005.
2. Amtrak just announced a rate increase for carrying private railroad passenger cars. This is not a few pennies per mile. We are talking about a 40%+ increase per mile effective June 1st. This will probably be reflected with price increases by private car operators for future trips. I know it will be reflected in our future trips.

Time is running out to order your space. We have a comfortable number of people signed up with approximately 110 people riding various legs. As a note, we do not offer last minute discounts on our excursion.

We are getting closer to the grand Trainorders.com excursion that will take place between May 13th and May 17th between Los Angeles and Reno/Sparks. Space is still available and I have some economical short distance trips available for those who can’t afford to ride the entire length. Many of these shorter legs are not available through the online order form. Therefore email or call me (661-424-9237) if you are interested in riding. There will not be a web site excursion in 2005.

Aside from meeting some great people from the web site, you also have the opportunity to enjoy the open doors of the Pony Express, the rear platform of the Los Angeles, the view from the dome, and incredible meals that you can’t get on Amtrak. You have not ridden the Coast until you have ridden it in an open door. Meet many of your friends as folks are coming in from all over North America and further as we have a pair flying in from New Zealand.

I have no intention of crowding a bunch of people on this excursion. The cars combined have a total capacity of 140. However, I put a limit of 100 and it looks like we will have about 80 people maximum at one time on the train. That is not that many considering the capacity. Since we have a lot of people going complete roundtrips, I have lowered the capacity even further. That is why some legs show as sold out.
