Western Railroad Discussion > Pig Train WB @ Davis CA, 11:11PM--BNSF detour on CalPDate: 06/04/04 23:11 Pig Train WB @ Davis CA, 11:11PM--BNSF detour on CalP Author: gobbl3gook 4 GEs pulling about 100 TOFCs WB @ Davis, 11:11PM First freight detour I've seen on the Cal P line. At least one warbonnet, nice to see a little variety here.
San Joaquins have been detouring on the Cal P all day. (BNSF bridge is out of service between Stockton, CA and Antioch, CA due to a broken levy. See info at http://www.thekcrachannel.com/video/3384277/detail.html courtesy of Harry on the CalRailFans yahoo group). Ted in Davis Date: 06/05/04 01:23 More pigs in Davis Author: gobbl3gook And an EB @ 12:30AM. Also a very long train, no stacks on this one. Nice to get a little variety through here.
Date: 06/06/04 00:31 Unusual meet in Davis Author: gobbl3gook A few more BNSF detours today, I saw 2 each way between about 11AM and 9PM, could have missed some, though.
Photo is of a meet at the station, BNSF westbound stacks with Warpumpkin 5419 and SD40-2 7301 meeting a UP San Jose-Roseville train with patched SP tunnel motor 8766 on the point, trailed by Larry's Truck (ex UP) SD40-2 3757, UP 7899, UP 2528, and DRGW 3110. Quite the motive power show. Ted in Davis Date: 06/06/04 08:27 Re: Unusual meet in Davis Author: czuleget Would the BNSF Trains have both a UP crew as well as a BNSF crew on board for the detours? Or Just a up crew.
