BNSF New Dash-9 Roof detail
Author: bnsfsd70

At Galesburg, IL today, I noticed that one of BNSF's Dash 9's had a pair of "rails" mounted parallel to the tracks along either side of the cab roof. These were a silver/gray color, and I was wondering if anyone knew what these were. Thanks a lot, Jeff

I was told by a BNaSiF rail that those are part of the remote control system they've been testing on the Mojave sub.
I've seen said unit my own self.

Remote control train operation by Wabtec. Engineerless trains are in BNSF's future.
