By the way BN's set of 1776/1876/1976 have gone to the four corners of the earth. The 1776 (BN 5325) has been scrapped, the 1876 (BN 6325) is now the BNSF 6397, a remote control yard SD40-2. And the 1976 (BN 6397) is now a Alstom rebuilt SD40-2M #3093 in a lease fleet. Now what about Katy's GP40 #200, Milwaukee's SD40-2 #176, SCL's U36B 1776 and ICG's GP38AC ? MILW "156" (cq) went to Mexico. SCL's 1776 went to CSX with ?#. May still be running although I doubt it. ICG's 2 GP38AC's, 9510 and 9503 are still running, although I'm not sure for whom. SP U25BE 6800 SSW SD45T-2 9389 Most likely the only one left running. Date: 08/17/04 11:19 Re: Bicentennials SD45-2's Author: southlandwarrior The Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, CA, has SP's Bicentennial U25B, still wearing the number it had when it was retired. (SP 3100)
http://www.oerm.org/pages/sp3100.html 3100 was part of the motive power consist for one of OERM's off-property work trains to Fontana last year along with the Santa Fe FP45. Date: 08/17/04 12:49 Re: Bicentennials SP units Author: tracktime crossbucks Wrote:

Actually, the GP40P-2 is still running around, freshly rebuilt on the Indiana Harbor Belt, albeit with major surgery done to the rear stepwells and new rear end to accommodate switchman-friendly stepwells. The U25BE - SP 3100, as others have noted, is at the Orange Empire Trolley Museum in Southern CA, and sorry to say, I recall reading that the SSW 9389 was unceremoniously scrapped a year or two back at Cycle Systems back east. I'm sure others will provide additional details/corrections as needed. Best Regards, Harry Date: 08/17/04 20:21 Re: Bicentennial U36B Author: toledopatch If the ex-Seaboard bicentennial is still alive, it's not on CSX any more. CSX retired all of its U36B's during the mid-1990s. A few were sold to Transkentucky Transportation, but I don't know if the former bicentennial was one of those, or if any others avoided the torch.
