E-9's aborted (nothing "special" about t
Author: A-nonny-moose

Shipped east (thru Barstow this morning without passenger cars). They had been reported "smoking like a steam engine" on the way into LA - guess they were not reliable to continue the trips.

Yes, the train left SLO awhile ago with 11 cars. It's all over the news so I can talk about it. Don't get paranoid guys. Forget what the power is but it's not the E's. Their SD70M's.

From what I can gather they have power trouble with at least one unit which is DIC. Cheers.

Blame it on Cuesta Grade?
Author: Paul_H

Too bad UP didn't use helpers over Cuesta Grade. But that's just hindsight, I guess. My son Andrew saw the train go past his school here in AtasCal at about 2:40 PM just as his bus was pulling out of the yard. All he saw were the coaches, not the locos. Me, I didn't see squat because I was at work.
