Western Railroad Discussion > Millersburg,OR then and nowDate: 01/29/05 14:27 Millersburg,OR then and now Author: Jefflocal Here are a couple of views of the railroad overcrossing at Millersburg. Not a whole lot has changed from this 1995 view of an SP westbound picking up some cars off of Millersburg siding. Date: 01/29/05 14:30 Re: Millersburg,OR then and now Author: Jefflocal And here is today, with the Kraft switcher stopped getting ready to back in and switch the mill. About all we can learn here is that UP runs the railroad now, blackberries will take over if you let them and Millersburg isn't exactly a hot destination spot. Bob ATSF100WEST......Out Date: 01/29/05 21:06 Re: Millersburg,OR then and now Author: funnelfan I've been by Millerburg many a time, but not much has changed since the papermill stopped using the rotary dumper.

It has to be 10 or 15 years since the mill has taken railcars. I've always wondered why the mill stopped getting chips by rail. Anyone know? I have a relative who hauls chips for the mill and I know they get a lot of them from nearby mills but it still seems the bulk amount from a railcar might be worth it. Geoff Date: 01/30/05 18:04 Re: Millersburg,OR then and now Author: rdsexton Interesting. Not only have the blackberries been grwoing, but now you don't have to drive carefully as long as you don't make any annoying brake noise... ;-)
