I still remember seeing a whole door along the ROW between Greensferry RD and Rathdrum ID. and wondering what it would do to your car if it fell off at a crossing. Aren't there stops to keep this from happening?

And that door's a sliding one.

Plug doors (like the one that ISN'T loose) are even more dangerous if not closed and locked when car is moving.

Yes, there are door stops. If either door, plug or slider, came off the car at the least a lot of damage, possibly death, would occur. Shippers sometimes use forklifts to move the doors and the drivers get carried away. Rules require the plug types to be secured before moving the car. The sliders can be moved without closing.

When the guys see it come into the yard off a train that way... I'm sure the old 'no news is good news' scenario applies. :-)
