Ah "the Tuxedo rocks". Perfect frame. Great subject. Very nice.

Rode a trip in '96 and in '97. Fantastic all the way around. It was also the fastest I've ever ridden behind steam.

Now this has to be my all-time favorite view of 614. May I ask, where is "Tuxedo Rocks" and why is it called this?

Tuxedo Park, NY is about 8½ miles North from where Route 287 and 87 meet or North of Sloatsburg, NY. The line is used by NS and NJ transit and is easily viewed from Route 17 which parallels it.

Here's another shot I just located with C&O #614 - drivers down.

Adding to Mgoldman's description, just another noted railfan photographer's location, from the old Erie RR days to today: "Tuxedo Rocks", "Collin's Curve", "Rundles Curve", "Black Rock Cut" etc.

Mgoldman must be clairyoyant, as when I first saw the original posted photo, I thought "The only thing better would be if 614's rods were down. Fantastic.
