The railroad is failing--the #18 was sold to the commission which is rebuilding the Virginia & Truckee from outside Carson City to Gold Hill. Far as I know, it is still stored in McCloud awaiting movement to Nevada.
The McCloud is planning on shutting down by June last I heard, at least in terms of freight, and abandoning the line East of McCloud out thru Bartle and on down to Burney.
