A very eventful weekend with some really interesting weather, so more unique pictures. Witnessed fog in Ely for the first time.

Photo 1: We have a new toy to play with, Mark's Railway Express Agency model AA car. This is not a replica, it is a real one that saw REA service.

Photo 2: The REA car posed with #40.

Photo 3: Locomotives 93 and 40 posed together in front of the engine house and machine shop. Rumors of #40s demise were greatly exaggerated, and she put in yeoman's service assembling trains and making run-bys.

Photo 2: Wreck crane after re-railing an ore car that had de-railed the day before. No need to set up a demonstration this time, it was the real thing.

last but not least, some night shots before I turn in.

Steve and I came up with the scene and lit it. Everyone got tons of shots thanks to Steve's modern strobe lighting system. We used lanterns from Steve's collection. All lit with Kerosene.

I made it there 2004-2007, and wish I could have made it this year, but alas, no time and $ is a bit thin.

I'll be back sooner then I think !

Great set as usual Mike, but #1 and the 2nd to last shot really stand out, well done!

Mike, wish I were there and great photos, as always. The first two bring back ancient memories of my dad driving his 1932 Ford REA truck home for lunch. Looked a lot like the one in your photos, and this was during WW II.

Mike and Steve--great work as usual, thanks for the publicity and support you provide to NN. Great to see everything steaming, hats off to Al and the shop gang. Sorry I couldn't be there this year.
