It was my understanding that someone bought it and was going to restore it to operating condition using "old school" tools of the trade at the CCT shop in Stockton.

See my post (link below attached) from back in March of the progress of this engine. It is hoped to have this locomotive operating by next year.

He is currently finishing repairs to the boiler and will be moving the rest of the locomotive to our shop facility in Mineral, WA this summer where the remainder of the rebuild will take place in his spare time.
