Some old steam shots
Author: hepc46

Was going through a bunch of slides I had given to me a few years ago. Was mostly miscellaneous steam in the US. Managed to scan a few shots today, thought I'd post them here for all to see. They are a bit overexposed and I did what I could with them.

I have no dates for any of them, so feel free to fill me in if you have a guess.

The Soo Line 1003 is seen on display in Superior WI the city the Soo donated it to. Of course most people who read Trainorders know where the 1003 is now.

DM&IR Yellowstone 225 on display in Proctor MN west of Duluth. It is still there and in recent times has had a retired Missabe wide vision caboose C-200 added to the display. The C-200 was built and used while the Yellowstones were still in regular service.

Willing to wager that is 4978 when it was on display at Ottawa Illinois before it was moved to Mendota ...

John, with your knowledge of the CB&Q, I suspect you are right. Photos from Mendota from 2009 show her to be in much nicer restored condition than in this photo.
