Chasin' Trains on the Durango & Silverton
Author: Jason-Rose

I had to be in the Farmington area for work last month, so I used the opportunity to get some fresh mountain air... and coal smoke.

1) Brakeman lines a switch in Durango Yard.

2) Train 463 passing the Silverton Northern Engine House in Silverton.

3) Video

Thank you, gents. Chasing trains in the San Juans sure beats sitting in an office.

How do they make it without going on the ground?

Jason has such a tough job that he is "required" to be in the Durango area 3 or 4 times a year and escape the Houston heat.

GREAT JOB, and keep them coming!

Excellent photos! I'm really impressed with the top one! The black and white and the color come together well! I haven't seen the video yet being it seems so to load on my iPad. I'll have to try my laptop if it doesn't load here. Very nice stuff though and I look forward to seeing the video as well!

Thanks for sharing!
